30.08.2016The project “Preparation of project proposal for “Design and construction of composting installation for separately collected green and/or biodegradable waste, incl. ensuring the necessary equipment and installations for separate collection of green and biodegradable waste” is implemented within the framework of Operation Program “Environment 2014-2020”

Main project activities:
Activity 1. Elaboration of forecasts about the amount generated waste /on the basis of a detailed mass balance/ and analysis of the waste management infrastructure
- Elaboration of forecasts about the quantity of generated waste
- Analysis of the waste management infrastructure
- Elaboration of a forecast detailed mass balance
Activity 2. Conducting a study of the attitudes of the population, which will be serviced by the composting installation, towards the separate collection of biodegradable waste; of the population’s attitudes towards the use of compost from waste and towards the level of information provision for the purposes of ensuring the necessary quantities of green and biodegradable household waste.
Activity 3. Elaboration of feasibility studies /FS/ and design of the composting installation and accompanying infrastructure, including:
- Elaboration of Feasibility Studies (FS), including examination of the site and selection of composting systems
- Design of the composting installation and the accompanying infrastructure
- Conducting an analysis, indicating the need for additional infrastructure in the region as a means to meet the goals for recycling and utilization of waste, including by waste streams;
- Analysis of the efficiency of the centralized and the decentralized approach for the construction of the necessary infrastructure.
Activity 4. Preparation of documents relating to the management of the compost; elaboration of a plan for utilization of the final product; elaboration of a scheme for exercising control over the quality of the compost and a plan for treatment of the residual waste.
Activity 5. Conducting a cost-benefit analysis
Activity 6. Provision of expert assistance over the course of preparation of the project proposal for preparation of the necessary documents for conducting applicable procedures under:
- the Environmental Protection Act (EPA)
- the Biological Diversity Act (BDA)
- the Water Act
- the Spatial Planning Act.
Activity 7. Preparation of the documents to the application form in the EUMIS 2020.
Activity 8. Preparation of tender documents for:
- Engineering /design and construction/;
- Construction supervision;
- Delivery of equipment for separate collection and transportation of biodegradable (green) household waste in Montana municipality.
